It’s hard to believe that it’s been over 8 months since I started blogging about marriage equality and the mean-spirited Minnesota marriage amendment on ballots this NOvembmer. Since that time, I’ve registered my own domain, set up a web presence, have posted over 300 entries and have shared our Vote NO message with over 6,000 people! I’ve received dozens of emails and I continue to reply to each and every one of them.
In addition to sharing my posts on Facebook, I’ve also been using Google Ads to reach Minnesotans who might not otherwise get exposure to this topic. However, after 4 months of daily spend on ads, my budget is now depleted.
That’s where you come in.
I’m a midwestern boy, born and raised, so asking for your help is a stretch for me. But, when you believe in something as important as marriage equality and keeping discrimination out of our Minnesota state constitution, sometimes, you have to bend. I’d like to continue to advertise and reach out to Minnesotans who otherwise may not understand why voting NO is so very important – but I need your help to do it.
If you like the blog and you support equality, please consider donating to the cause. Drop me an email and I’ll send you additional information. All donors will have the opportunity to share their personal story on the site, share a message in honor of another, or remain completely anonymous.
Just think, ten dollars reaches over two dozen Minnesotans. Twenty-five dollars reaches almost a hundred voters. One-hundred dollars allow ads to run for half of the month. Regardless of the amount, you can be assured that every single dollar will go toward the cause. There are no paid staff members here, I’m just a Minnesotan blogging about equality from the comforts of his bedroom.
My commitment to you: I’m not going to send you daily emails asking for money or guilt you into donating by showing you pictures of puppies or other imagery that pulls on your heartstrings. I’m going to keep blogging, from my bedroom, and keep sharing news, ways to take action and other content that helps educate Minnesotans on the importance of voting NO in NOvember. Even if we lose this thing (polls currently have us down), I want to know that I did everything in my power to speak out against inequality.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
-Mark
