Shakopee Mayor responds to criticism

To me, marriage is about love between two people and not about love specifically between a man and a woman. I could not care less if it is two men, two women or a man and a woman. I feel allowing any two people that love each other to marry can only elevate and improve the covenant of marriage.

On Friday, I posted a link to the Mayor’s blog in which he talked about his opposition to the marriage amendment. Since posting, the mayor has received mostly positive comments, however, one person indicated her disappointment in the Mayor’s viewpoint. The Mayor of Shakopee blogged about how he will be voting NO in NOvember. In a well-written blog, Mayor Tabke shares that not everyone in Shakopee may agree with his decision to speak out on this topic. However, he believes that this is a non-partisan issue that impacts both people and businesses across the state of Minnesota. Tabke shares how several businesses have come out against this amendment – he’s in great company with the likes of RBC Wealth Management, General Mills, Thompson Reuters, St. Jude and others.

The Mayor concludes encouraging Minnesotans to Vote NO in NOvember. Take a moment to post a comment and thank the Mayor for taking a stand for equality!
